Crosslinked bacterial cellulose hydrogels for biomedical applications

چکیده
Recently, increasing attention has been given to bacterial cellulose-based membranes be applied as dressings for healing purposes. Bacterial cellulose (BC) is an attractive biomaterial due its unique structural characteristics such high porosity, water retention capacity, mechanical strength, low density, and biodegradability. One drawback of hydrogels that, after the first dehydration, capacity hindered. In this work we produced, modified, characterized hydrated de-hydrated BC biomedical applications. Two crosslinking methods were adopted (using citric acid epichlorohydrin agents), results obtained from characterization, properties or contact angle, compared those unmodified cellulose. We demonstrate that cross-linked present physical suitable used wound when hydrated, exuding dressings, dehydrated.

Hydrogels based on polysaccharide and protein natural polymers are of great interest in biomedical applications and more specifically for tissue regeneration and drug delivery. Cellulose, chitosan (a chitin derivative), and collagen are probably the most important components since they are the most abundant natural polymers on earth (cellulose and chitin) and in the human body (collagen). Pepti...
